This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 09, 2009:
I am thankful for the air I breathe. One year ago, I, a lifelong non-smoker, discovered that I had lung cancer. One half of my right lung was removed and I am now cancer-free ... so far ... I take nothing for granted anymore. One of my greatest pleasures now is consciously taking a very slow, deep breath. It actually feels physically pleasurable and satisfying which it never did before. A deep breath of the cold, crisp air in winter is a joy. I am looking forward to spring so that I can take deep breaths of the fresh spring air.
